Job summary

Cherry Creek Careers in Colorado is seeking a Tier-two IT/Security Systems Technician to install and maintain safety and security technologies across district facilities.

You will support communication platforms, UC, access control, video surveillance, and related hardware, performing preventative maintenance and upgrades while building trust with teams.

Qualifications

  • High School Equivalency (HSE) diploma.
  • Network+ certification or other relevant coursework with information technology/systems.
  • Experience supporting communications and security technology solutions or 3 years in general technology support.
  • Basic understanding of cyber security requirements, particularly as they relate to physical security, unified communications systems and devices.
  • Basic knowledge of common office application software.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Must meet insurability requirements of the Colorado School District Self Insurance Pool.

JOB SUMMARY

Install, provide tier two level support in several safety and security technologies including Communication platforms, Unified Communications (UC), Radio, Signage and Intercoms, access control systems, security panels and video surveillance. Perform preventative maintenance, upgrades, and end-of-life replacement for all safety and security technology hardware and software. Build trusting relationships with team members, other departments and schools.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The following tasks describe the basic functions of the job and represent the type of work performed. The following frequencies and percentage of time spent are approximations only and are subject to flexibility dependent on organizational needs.

  • Troubleshoot Systems including Communication platforms, including UC, Radio, Signage and Intercoms, access control systems and video surveillance. Configure, administer, and troubleshoot security systems and hardware. [Daily, 35%]
  • Assess move, add, and change requests, including any software and instrument changes as needed or requested by users. [Daily, 25%]
  • Conduct the installation of communication equipment within all district facilities. [Daily, 20%]
  • Maintain district telecommunication patch panels, lines, and equipment. [Weekly, 15%]
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or requested. [Daily, 5%]
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

The minimum amounts of formal education, professional work experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities that must be met for a candidate to be considered for a position

  • High School Equivalency (HSE) diploma
  • Network+ certification or other relevant coursework with information technology/systems.
  • Experience supporting communications and security technology solutions or 3 years in general technology support.
  • Basic understanding of cyber security requirements, particularly as they relate to physical security, unified communications systems and devices
  • High level of information technology competency

  • Basic Experience supporting networks.
  • Must meet insurability requirements of the Colorado School District Self Insurance Pool.

MINIMUM CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES

  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, or related field.
  • Cisco CCNA or Network+ certification.
