About TPPF:

The Texas Public Policy Foundation (TPPF) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit research-based think tank in Austin, Texas. Established in 1989, TPPF promotes conservative principles and develops free-market approaches to public policy challenges affecting Texans and all Americans. To achieve its mission, TPPF analyzes complex issues, creates legislative policy solutions, and advocates for those solutions at the Texas Legislature, Congress, and other public forums.

Life at TPPF:

The Foundation offers a unique opportunity to be part of an organization that shapes the future of Texas & beyond through innovative thought leadership. At TPPF, you will have the opportunity to be part of an engaged team whose mission is to create a freer future for all Texans and Americans. Description:

The Communications and Outreach Manager will serve as a key support role in TPPF’s Washington, D.C. office, helping to craft and disseminate the Foundation’s policy messages, manage its social media, build relationships with stakeholders, and assist in external engagement efforts. This position requires a dynamic and adaptable individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is eager to take on a variety of responsibilities.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Government Relations Support: Support outreach with key congressional offices, agency officials, and other stakeholders to communicate TPPF’s research and recommendations.
  • Content Development and Dissemination: Work closely with policy experts and the communications team to translate research into accessible and compelling materials for targeted policy audiences.
  • Event Coordination: Assist in planning and executing TPPF-hosted events in Washington, ensuring seamless logistics and maximum impact.

Qualifications:

  • 2–4 years of experience in communications, government relations, or public affairs, preferably in a policy organization or legislative office.
  • Strong writing and verbal communication skills, with the ability to distill complex policy issues into compelling narratives.
  • Entry-level experience with media and social media management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Teams, Outlook, Word) and familiarity with digital communication tools.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a proactive, can-do attitude and ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Commitment to TPPF’s principles of liberty, personal responsibility, and free enterprise.
