General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI) seeks an experienced Program Manager to lead multi-phase aerospace programs from conception through delivery.

You will coordinate plans with engineering and management to meet technical, schedule, and cost objectives while maintaining strong customer interactions. Responsibilities include directing program performance, maintaining quality, and driving growth through new opportunities and partnerships.

Qualifications

  • Must have 13+ years of program administration in engineering or science.
  • Experience with airborne mission systems, sensor development, and system integration.
  • Ability to drive execution of technical development and delivery of software intensive products.
  • Strong ability to prepare proposals, execute Government contracts, prepare technical and financial reports, knowledge of SAP security processes.
  • Ability to manage dynamic program schedules; achieve program objectives on time and within budget.
  • Demonstrates PM principles, planning, scheduling, and coordinating workloads to meet deadlines.
  • Must develop solutions requiring coordination across technologies.
  • Strong communication and leadership across departments and management levels.

Responsibilities

  • Lead program reviews with customers on cost and performance.
  • Identify issues and provide solutions such as reallocation of resources or modifying specifications.
  • Lead development of new business opportunities and partnerships.
  • Capture and execute a portfolio of programs; develop proposals for new DoD classified efforts.
  • Drive and oversee infrastructure improvements to meet growth.

Job Summary

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Direct all phases of the program(s) from conceptualization through completion, including acquisition, planning, and managing technical performance to ensure quality, business, and financial objectives are attained.
  • Lead all phases of assigned program(s) from initiation through delivery.
  • Develop and coordinate program plans or delivery methods which usually serve a single customer.
  • Collaborate with technical staff and/or Division/Group executive management to develop and implement current, annual, and long-term technical, schedule, quality, business, and financial objectives for the program(s).
  • Have responsibility for the product quality, cost, schedule, and performance on contracts.
  • Act as the primary customer contact. Lead program interface with customers on cost, schedule, and performance.
  • Ensure technical leadership and excellence is maintained by directing and participating in the planning, attraction, selection, retention, and development of the required management, professional, and technical talent.
  • Act as the primary customer contact for program activities and lead program review sessions with customers to discuss cost, schedule, and technical performance.
  • Identify program issues and provide leadership in developing solutions such as re-allocation of resources or modifying contract specification.
  • Lead the development of new business opportunities and expansion of existing business opportunities. Participate with Group management in pursuing business partnerships, alliances, and joint ventures that enhance the capabilities of the Group/Company and may result in new products, programs and business opportunities.
  • Capture and execute a portfolio of programs. Develop proposals for new DoD classified efforts.
  • Drive and oversee infrastructure improvements to meet growth.

Job Qualifications
  • Typically requires a Bachelors, Masters or PhD in engineering, science or a related technical field as well as thirteen or more years of progressively complex program administration experience. May substitute equivalent experience in lieu of education.
  • Technical experience with airborne mission systems, sensor development, system/platform integration, and system security.
  • Ability to drive execution of technical development and delivery of software intensive products.
  • Strong ability to prepare proposals, execute Government contracts, prepare technical and financial reports, hands on knowledge of special access program (SAP) security processes.
  • Ability to manage dynamic program schedules; achieve program objectives on time and within budget.
  • Demonstrates technical expertise and application of program management principles, concepts, and practice as well as program management and leadership skills including organizing, planning, scheduling, and coordinating workloads to meet established deadlines or milestones.
  • Must be able to develop solutions to problems that require coordination of technologies across program requirements.
  • Strong communication, leadership, presentation, and interpersonal skills are required to enable an effective interface with other departments, all levels of management, professional and support staff, customers, potential customers, and government representatives.
  • Customer focused, must be able to work on a self-initiated basis and in a team environment.

Job Type: Full-Time Salary

Salary range: 158,000 - 276,500
