Position Overview
The Communications and Marketing Manager will play a critical role in developing and executing Concordance’s communications strategy, ensuring a compelling and consistent message across all platforms.
This role is ideal for a strong writer with a keen ability to craft engaging narratives, donor messaging, and marketing materials that inspire action. The individual will drive content creation, brand storytelling, and strategic communications to elevate Concordance’s visibility, support fundraising initiatives, and enhance stakeholder engagement.
In this role, you will coordinate closely with the Donor Relationship Manager to share Concordance’s story to multiple internal and external stakeholder groups, including donors, governments, foundations, volunteers, and media.
Key Responsibilities
Content Development & Messaging
- Develop high-quality written content for donor communications, fundraising campaigns, reports, newsletters, and executive messaging
- Craft and share compelling and timely stories highlighting the impact of Concordance’s programs, participant successes, and organizational milestones through paid, earned, shared, and owned opportunities
- Write and edit speeches, talking points, and presentations for Concordance leadership
- Ensure consistent messaging across all external and internal communications, strengthening Concordance’s brand voice
- Create and manage an editorial calendar for internal and external communications.
Marketing & Digital Strategy
- Help create and manage marketing materials, including website content, email campaigns, social media, and print collateral
- Oversee the creation and execution of digital content strategies to engage supporters, donors, and stakeholders
- Collaborate to develop visually compelling marketing materials and assets
- Analyze engagement metrics and refine messaging for greater impact.
Stakeholder & Media Communications
- Draft press releases, media outreach materials, and thought leadership content
- Support Concordance’s public relations efforts, ensuring alignment with brand positioning
- Maintain the Concordance Messaging Handbook to support consistent communication by team members
- Create and maintain effective communication channels for the CEO, the board of directors, and various board committees
- Support employee engagement through employee communications
- Serve as the primary point of contact to develop and deliver on board meeting materials
Fundraising & Development Support
- Work closely with the development team to craft donor outreach materials, campaign messaging, and grant-related content
- Support fundraising initiatives through strategic storytelling and donor-focused communications.
- Prepare executive updates, board meeting reports, and donor impact summaries.

Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, nonprofit management, business administration, marketing, or a related field
- Five to seven plus [5 to 7+] years of experience as a senior communications professional
- Experience managing both internal and external communications.

- Exceptional writing skills, with the ability to tailor content for different audiences
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
- Collaborative mindset, working effectively within cross-functional teams
- Detail-oriented, ensuring accuracy and clarity in all communications
- Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- High level of discretion and professionalism
