Job summary

Qualified candidates hold a Master’s in Communication or related field; PhD preferred.

Qualifications

• Requires a master's degree in Communication or related field.
• Teaching experience at the undergraduate level is required.
• Ph.D. in Communication or related field is preferred.
• Ability to teach across multiple Communication areas including theory, visual design, strategic and digital topics.
• Active program of research or scholarly activity in communication discipline or a related field.
• Industry experience in communication or related fields.

Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate courses in General Communication, Strategic Communication, and/or Media Production Concentration.
• Teach courses in Communication Theory, Visual Communication, Graphic Design, Strategic Communication, Business Communication, Photography, Audio Production, Podcasting, Broadcasting, Law & Ethics, or Digital Marketing.
• Teach COM 110, Oral Communication for the Core Curriculum and other core courses.
• Advise and mentor Communication students.
• Support the mission of the University of Mary in teaching, advising, research, and service.
