Job Role SummaryThe Communications Manager will be responsible for planning and implementing a comprehensive communication and marketing program that includes community engagement, website development and maintenance, print media, marketing media, and social media. The successful candidate will work closely with all departments to develop and implement communication strategies to support the mission of FFC.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities• Develop and distribute press releases to media outlets at least once a month.
• Manage and grow the organization’s social media presence across platforms with multiple posts weekly.
• Plan and execute community outreach and engagement strategies with at least 12 events per year.
• Maintain and update the organization’s website to reflect current activities, programs, and initiatives, ensuring content is current and relevant, that all links work, and the site meets brand guidelines.
• Design and develop promotional materials and marketing collateral to meet the needs of FFC.
• Oversee the production of newsletters, brochures, reports, kiosks, and other materials.
• Coordinate with internal teams to align messaging and branding.
• Track engagement metrics and assess the effectiveness of communication efforts.
• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Social Services, or a related field required (Master’s degree preferred).
• One-year professional experience. Experience in communications, public relations, or marketing preferred.
• Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills.
• Proficiency in social media management and content creation.
• Experience with website maintenance and development (WordPress or similar platforms preferred).
• Graphic design and photography skills a plus.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with a team.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Willingness to work occasional weekends and attend community events.
• A deep commitment to the mission and values of our organization.
• Knowledge and experience in all aspects of communication and marketing, including social media, advertising, marketing, and website design and maintenance. Aware of best practices and current trends.
• Ability to develop and implement comprehensive communication and marketing strategies that include a range of social media and print opportunities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to write compelling donor communications and marketing materials.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, Board members, and the community.
