JOB SUMMARY: MCSG Technologies is seeking a Communications Engineer to support the 392d Combat Training Squadron (392 CTS). The 392 CTS provides space modeling and simulation (M&S) systems capabilities supporting advanced training, special event assessments, exercises, and real-world contingency operations through a robust Command, Control, Computer, and Communications (C4I) architecture. The CE CFT will provide detailed system expertise and continuous oversight and management of all aspects of the 392 CTS C4I architecture.

Location: This position is on Schriever SFB, CO and requires on-site support.

Primary Duties:

  1. Configure and align IBS ENTR RF radio systems to transmit and receive Integrated Broadcast Service messages, build and configure Tactical Receive Suite inputs and outputs, and determine best dissemination method of IBS inject paths.
  2. Configure Joint Data Translator (JDT) inputs/outputs, select the correct data format, and adjust message format to exercise requirements within the JDT.
  3. Build and configure Joint Range Extender (JRE) inputs and outputs and configure data feeds to be disseminated at distant exercise locations.
  4. Provide technical direction and engineering knowledge for communications activities, including support to systems analysis, planning, designing, developing, testing, installing, maintaining, sustaining, and upgrading 392 CTS RF and communication networks in support of training, exercises, and operations.
  5. Develop and review 392 CTS communication system requirements; identify shortfalls and excesses; integrate systems for interoperability; and establish procedures and documentation to sustain and upgrade capabilities.
  6. Evaluate operating systems and protocol suites; configure/update systems with exercise parameters; and troubleshoot communication systems, voice and data networks.
  7. Resolve interoperability problems across platforms.
  8. Provide onsite support for GPS Environment Generator (GEG) system testing, scenario development, and event execution.
  9. Support the development of plans to leverage COTS/GOTS communication systems and emerging technologies to enhance capabilities.
  10. Coordinate with the government to engineer, purchase, install, and support communication hardware/software and leased links.
  11. Translate operational training requirements into technical approaches.
  12. Support setup, teardown, integration, testing, operation, and troubleshooting of equipment supporting exercises and training.
  13. Collaborate with stakeholders to understand needs, accommodate data collection, and leverage best practices.
  14. Perform tasks as directed to ensure mission success.

Requirements:

  • Experience with DMO capabilities
  • Willingness to travel worldwide (~20 days/year)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with AF Tactical Receive Suite and JDT configuration
  • Experience with IBS request processing
  • Troubleshooting data flow for DMO systems and COPs
  • Experience with DIS and HLA protocols troubleshooting
  • Experience in planning and executing communication system design for USSF or other services
  • Prior RF Technician or Signals Intelligence experience

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE: 10 years in RF communications or satellite ground stations.

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION: Bachelor's degree; Sec+ certification or ability to obtain within 6 months.

SECURITY CLEARANCE: Active Top Secret/SCI clearance.
