Communication, Adjunct Faculty

Florida Gulf Coast University is a comprehensive university dedicated to quality education, research, and service. All Faculty are expected to be excellent teachers, responsive to changing professional needs; committed to innovative delivery of instruction resulting in improved student learning; committed to effective use of technology including distance learning; and provide service to the College, University, and Community. Assignments will include teaching Public and Effective Speaking classes. Additional duties may be assigned by supervisor.

Typical duties include but are not limited to:

• Teaching responsibilities include guiding students to develop communication skills such as speech organization, outlining, delivery, audience analysis, as well as learning how to critique speeches.

Other Duties:

• Works with Communication Lab Director to promote and support public speaking related events.

Required Qualifications:

• Master's Degree with at least 18 graduate hours in Communication

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in public speaking as well as teaching the theory and craft of public speaking.

• Possess the knowledge of general written standards and procedures utilized, and have the ability to read, interpret, and follow procedural and policy manuals related to the job tasks.
