A Purchasing Commodity Manager oversees the purchasing, budgeting, and management of specific goods or materials for a company, focusing on developing strategies, negotiating contracts, and ensuring supply continuity while optimizing costs and quality.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Strategy Development: Develop and implement sourcing strategies for specific commodities, considering market trends, supplier capabilities, and company needs.
  • Supplier Management: Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, ensuring quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery.
  • Negotiation & Contract Management: Negotiate contracts, terms, and conditions with suppliers, ensuring favorable pricing and performance standards.
  • Cost Optimization: Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities, such as negotiating better prices, optimizing supply chains, and improving processes.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate potential risks related to procurement, such as supply disruptions, price fluctuations, and quality issues.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments, such as engineering, operations, project management and finance, to align procurement strategies with company objectives.
  • Market Analysis: Monitor market trends, analyze supplier performance, and identify potential sourcing opportunities.
  • Procurement Execution: Ensure timely and accurate execution of purchase orders, managing inventory levels, and resolving any issues that may arise.
  • Data Analysis: Utilize data and analytics to track performance, identify trends, and make informed decisions.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and relevant regulations.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or 10 year’s experience in Architectural Millwork Industry.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement or supply chain management, with a focus on commodity management.
  • Skills:

    • Experience with procurement software and ERP systems.
    • Knowledge of supply chain best practices and regulatory requirements.
