Radisys is seeking a Commodity Manager for a contract position to manage supplier relationships within the Radisys Supply Base Management team, focused on the Broadband Access business. The role involves defining sourcing strategies and participating early in the NPI cycle under the Director of Commodity Management.

This 6–12 month contract suits an experienced sourcing professional who can drive results and shape global communications. Travel may be required up to 10%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant field.
• Minimum 7 years in strategic material and supplier sourcing in telecommunications/broadband.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently in a fast-changing environment.
• Excellent English verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience with software commodities is a plus.

Radisys is seeking a Commodity Manager for a contract position to manage assigned supplier relationships within the Radisys Supply Base Management team with the primary responsibility supporting our Broadband Access Business. The Commodity Manager will define sourcing strategies of assigned commodities and will participate in the early phase of the New Product Introduction cycle. The Commodity Manager reports directly to our Director, Commodity Management. This is a highly visible [6/12]-month contract role within Radisys, ideal for an experienced sourcing professional who can quickly drive results to help shape the future of global communications.

Duties and responsibilities

• Manage and improve existing global supplier relations focused on Quality, Cost and Innovation.
• Contributor in defining sourcing strategy for assigned commodities and or suppliers.
• Implements the defined commodity strategy with all stakeholders.
• Negotiates global contracts and agreements with assigned suppliers on behalf of Radisys & in partnership with Legal team.
• Experience negotiating 3rd party software licensing agreements and managed services commodities a must.
• Prepares and executes annual negotiations on commercial conditions.
• Manages escalations regarding delivery, quality and overall performance issues.
• Delivers on CoGS reduction initiatives.
• Ensures relevant Supply-Market knowledge (outside in view).
• Ensures supply continuity by screening/assessing assigned suppliers and implement risk management strategies.
• The Commodity manager will participate in NPI project teams in an early stage to ensure that supply chain decisions are in line with the sourcing strategy and assures timely sourcing contribution to PRP milestone gates.
• Initiate and steer supplier selection processes for projects.
• Partner with business unit stakeholders to ensure all materials will be ordered in line with project timeline and where necessary ensures risk buys are executed.
• Initiate ramp-up planning with supplier.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanics/Electronics Engineering/Business/Supply Chain or a combination of education and experience that demonstrates the required skills.
• A minimum of 7 years of experience in the field of strategic material and supplier sourcing, specifically in the Telecommunications / Broadband industry.
• Proven track record of being able to work independently in a fast-changing environment.
• Ideally has a background in Sourcing or Supply Chain roles, preferably in a High-Tech Systems environment with high diversity and lower volumes.
• Evidence of analytical, systematic and practical approach to resolving challenges.
• Good reporting and interpersonal communication skills.
• Proven success as a negotiator, influencer, team player and eager to learn and further develop.
• Excellent English verbal and writing language skills.
• Experience with software commodities a plus.
• Travel could be up to 10%
