Job summary

Teradyne's Defense & Aerospace Division seeks an experienced Commodity Manager to lead sourcing of electronics used in test solutions. You will build a domestic supplier base and collaborate with engineering to align cost, quality, and roadmap.

The role requires 8–12 years in supply chain or electronics manufacturing, a relevant degree, ITAR experience, and travel up to 15–20%. Local candidates in MA preferred; visa sponsorship not available.

Qualifications

  • 8–12 years of progressive experience in Supply Chain / Strategic Sourcing / Electronics Manufacturing.
  • College degree in supply chain management, business management, or Engineering field.
  • Technical procurement or planning experience with Electronic Components, PCBAs.
  • Experience working with ITAR, EAR, or export-controlled products, or regulated supply chains.
  • Experience in new product introduction (NPI) and mass production (MP).
  • Experience reading technical drawings, data sheets, fabrication drawing, BOMs and all related files.
  • Proven track record of taking ownership, successfully negotiating preferred pricing and driving results.
  • Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and able to respond quickly in a fast-moving and ever-changing environment.
  • Technical knowledge and experience with Military and Aerospace electronics and subsystems.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem solving, and organizational skills (i.e. cost modeling, quotation analysis, capacity management).
  • Ability to multi-task activities, set priorities, and adhere to schedules in a fast-paced and demanding environment.
  • Able to travel. Estimated 15-20% of the time as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage supply base (domestic) for Electronic Components required across our test solutions.

  • Provide guidance to internal engineering customers on recommended suppliers to use.
  • Negotiate purchasing/pricing contracts and MSAs to ensure continuity of supply and protect Teradyne’s interests, and acting as the supplier interface for all RFIs, RFPs, and RFQs.
  • Monitor global industry trends, track technology roadmaps, and actively partner with the design teams to identify and mitigate supply and demand challenges.
  • Partner with internal resources to drive urgent closure of any quality concern.
  • Visit supplier facilities and accurately assess operational capability, financial health, and capacity in order to award contracts in support of new product development and long-term production.
  • Conduct comprehensive supplier analysis, including strategic direction, capacity, market and industry position, and risk assessment.
  • Manage costs to ensure alignment with program budget.
  • Present value propositions to executives, including those related to contract awards, cost reviews, cost reduction strategies, and critical supply issues.

Opportunity Overview

As a Commodity Manager and a member of the Teradyne’s Product Test Group Supply Chain team, you will manage the sourcing of electronics used on our test solutions. Our team moves quickly and you must too. Compensation

The base salary range for this role is $130,200 - $186,800. This range is a good faith estimate, and the amount of base salary will correspond with experience and skill set. This range can also fluctuate depending on demand and location.

Incentive Plan: This job is eligible for discretionary bonus(es) based on financial performance.

All candidates for this ITAR restricted position must be one of the following: US Citizen or U.S. Permanent Resident, Asylee, Refugee or otherwise lawfully admitted under an amnesty program.
