NYCOR is seeking an experienced Commodity Manager to lead sourcing and supplier management for key materials, components, tooling, and equipment used in our manufacturing operations. You will partner with suppliers and internal teams to ensure quality, on-time delivery, and competitive costs.

The role emphasizes building strong supplier relationships, market analysis, and driving continuous improvement across the business.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or a related discipline preferred.
  • Equivalent experience in purchasing, sourcing, or supply chain management will also be considered.
  • 7+ years of progressive purchasing or sourcing experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • 5+ years of experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, MS Dynamics, or similar platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Manage supplier relationships for assigned commodity categories.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce costs, improve quality, and enhance delivery performance.
  • Analyze spending, supplier performance, and market trends to support sourcing strategies and business decisions.
  • Negotiate pricing, contracts, and terms with suppliers.
  • Collaborate with engineering, quality, operations, and production teams to support goals and new product development.
  • Evaluate potential suppliers and select best partners based on quality, delivery, service, and value.
  • Partner with suppliers to improve lead times, quality, responsiveness, and overall performance.
  • Streamline the supply base and improve supply chain efficiency.
  • Support inventory reduction and working capital improvement initiatives.
  • Drive supplier development and continuous improvement programs.

Job description

We're looking for an experienced Commodity Manager to help lead sourcing and supplier management activities for key materials, components, tooling, and equipment used in our manufacturing operations.

In this role, you'll work closely with suppliers and internal teams to ensure we receive high-quality products on time and at competitive costs. You'll play a key role in driving supplier performance, identifying cost-saving opportunities, reducing supply chain risks, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the business.

Supplier & Commodity Management
  • Manage supplier relationships for assigned commodity categories.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce costs, improve quality, and enhance delivery performance.

  • Monitor purchase price variances and identify opportunities for additional savings.
  • Assess supply chain risks and recommend solutions to support long-term business objectives.
  • Build strong working relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
  • Participate in strategic planning and supply chain improvement initiatives.
  • Help foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or a related discipline preferred.
  • Equivalent experience in purchasing, sourcing, or supply chain management will also be considered.
  • 7+ years of progressive purchasing or sourcing experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • 5+ years of experience working with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar platforms.
  • Strong negotiation and supplier management skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities while working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Passion for continuous improvement and driving results.
