Job summary

Parker Aerospace is seeking a Purchasing/Commodity Manager to develop, coordinate, and manage division-wide commodity strategies with key stakeholders. You will lead division-wide supplier negotiations and ensure cost-effective procurement across materials and services.

Responsibilities

  • Manages the Division's purchases of raw materials, supplies, equipment or services; identifies material requirements.
  • Leads sourcing activities: supplier identification, RFQ/RFT, bid analysis, supplier selection.
  • Establishes supplier criteria based on price, quality, delivery, certifications, and compliance.
  • Interviews, selects and negotiates with suppliers; ensures local vs group strategic supplier utilization.
  • Works with suppliers to develop and manage continuous improvement programs addressing quality, delivery, and price.
  • Establishes part family strategies to drive cost savings.

The vision of Gas Turbine Fuel Systems Division is to be the global leader in the design, development, manufacture, and service of engine fuel, lubrication, and thermal management systems and components for aerospace/defense and industrial applications. By leveraging our expertise in analysis, atomization, combustion, fluid metering, and control — coupled with enterprise excellence — we will exceed customer expectations and achieve our business objectives.

Position Summary:

This position will develop, coordinate and manage division wide commodity strategies with the active engagement and support of key division stakeholders. This position will act as the for all division wide negotiation with common partnership supplier agreements.

Essential Functions:
  • Manages the activities of the Division's purchases of raw materials, supplies, equipment or services. Identifies raw material requirements from production specifications, operational schedules and engineering quality requirements. Determines the most cost-effective and reliable materials needed for the manufacturing process.
  • Leads sourcing activities, including supplier identification, qualification, RFQ/RFT processes, bid analysis and supplier selection.
  • Establishes preferred supplier selection criteria based on supplier evaluations of price, quality, delivery, certifications, and compliance with governmental procurement regulations. Promotes and uses strategic suppliers.
  • Interviews, selects and negotiates with suppliers in response to material requirements/cost issues. Establishes procedures to leverage the company’s position. Ensures purchasing strategy reflects the consistent utilization of local suppliers vs. Group strategic suppliers.
  • Works with suppliers to develop and manage continuous improvement programs, addressing quality, delivery, service as well as price.
  • Establishes part family strategies to drive cost savings
  • Develops and benchmarks best practices among the Divisions suppliers and maintain accurate measurements and records for evaluation of suppliers.
  • Ensures purchases and capital expenditures are consistent with Division strategies and within department budgets.
  • Monitor market conditions, raw material trends, capacity constraints, and global supply risks to support informed sourcing decisions.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or materials management required with certification in supply chain management preferred.
  • Minimum of 5- 7 years purchasing/managerial experience.
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and supplier management skills.
  • Knowledge of procurement, supply chain, contract management, and cost analysis.
  • Ability to interpret market data and make strategic sourcing recommendations.
