DynaTen (a Comfort Systems USA Company) has been successfully providing Commercial Service and Construction Solutions to the greater North Texas market. DynaTen is seeking an experienced Commissioning Technician I, II, III, IV to join our team! This is a critical position that will be highly valuable within our organization. You will help execute our corporate-wide QA/QC Process, to achieve our strategic goals. Additionally, we offer professional development, pertinent training, and long-term career growth in a client-focused environment.

Responsibilities:

  1. Assist installing contractors with jobsite visits before start-up and commissioning to ensure installation is per manufacturer’s installation instructions and procedures.
  2. Review operational test procedures for customers and clients.
  3. Get involved in troubleshooting when needed and support the warranty needs in the field.
  4. Working knowledge of various control systems within the data center and commercial building space.
  5. Ensure a high standard of safety is achieved and Environmental and Quality Assurance procedures are followed.
  6. Participate in technical meetings and discussions with the Construction Team.
  7. Perform tests, site inspections, and coordinate activities to ensure that HVAC systems are operating optimally.
  8. Manage documentation and coordination among various stakeholders, including design teams, contractors, and facility operators.
  9. Author technical requirements that can be used by external contractors and internal manufacturing personnel.
  10. Interface with clients, subcontractors, and consultant engineers to solve issues and problems to the satisfaction of the client.
  11. Experience with electric motors (3-phase) motor controls (contactors, starters, relays, disconnects, transformers), various types of water pumps, intake and exhaust fans, economizers, and variable frequency drives (VFDs).
  12. Experience with hardware equipment DDC, embedded controls, temperature/humidity/pressure sensors, and actuators.
  13. Apply local control systems to a variety of cooling systems including DX, CW, and evaporative technologies.
  14. Read blueprints and wiring diagrams.
  15. Assist in the creation and execution of Commissioning Plans, QA/QC Plans, and Systems Manuals, consistent with ASHRAE Guideline-0.
  16. Assist the Client Commissioning Authority with the ongoing determination of project scheduling requirements and staffing requirements.

  1. Ability to apply knowledge of mechanical, electrical, controls, airflow, and air conditioning theory and structural layout.
  2. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with diverse client groups.
  3. Self-starter with the ability to work both independently and within a team.
  4. Ability to effectively communicate ideas and properly describe problems and solutions.
  5. Demonstrated technical skills to explain product functionality to customers.
  6. Well-developed planning, organization, analytical, and decision-making skills.
  7. Proficient computer skills, such as Excel, Word, MS Project, CxAlloy, and ProCore.
  8. Ability to produce clear, timely, and concise documentation and have well-developed problem-solving skills.
  9. Understand and interpret drawings, submittals, and sequence of operations.
  10. Proven technical capabilities delivered with customer service in mind.
  11. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  12. Commitment to integrity and quality.
  13. Positive attitude and self-motivated.
  14. Able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.

Working Conditions:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to outdoor weather conditions including extreme heat, cold, humidity, rain, snow, wind, and sunlight. The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, and lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. Use of hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls is required. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
