Job summary

InfraServices is seeking a Commissioning Technician I to support testing, verification, and documentation of electrical systems in data center environments. You will assist with pre-functional and functional testing of UPS, generators, ATS/STS, and distribution systems under senior supervision.

Role requires strong attention to safety, reliable teamwork, and the ability to travel regionally and nationally up to 75%.

Qualifications

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and data entry.
• Ability to read basic electrical drawings.
• Knowledge of NEC and electrical safety concepts preferred.
• Two years of electrical, construction, or data center experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist with pre-functional and functional commissioning testing activities.
• Support setup and preparation of testing equipment and commissioning work areas.
• Perform basic field verification checks under supervision.
• Aid labeling verification, device checks, and system walkdowns.
• Collect and record field data during commissioning activities.
• Follow commissioning procedures and test scripts.
• Coordinate with field installation teams and stakeholders.
• Travel to job sites, including potential overnight stays.

Job Summary:

The Commissioning Technician I supports commissioning activities in data center environments including testing, verification, and documentation of electrical systems. This role assists with pre-functional and functional testing of UPS systems, generators, ATS/STS, and electrical distribution systems under the direction of senior commissioning staff.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assist with pre-functional and functional commissioning testing activities
• Support setup and preparation of testing equipment and commissioning work areas
• Perform basic field verification checks under supervision
• Assist with labeling verification, device checks, and system walkdowns
• Collect and record field data during commissioning activities
• Follow commissioning procedures, test scripts, and direction from senior staff
• Support coordination with field installation teams and project stakeholders
• Support energized readiness activities under direction of senior staff
• Maintain clean and organized work areas
• Follow all Company safety policies, customer site requirements, and established safe work practices at all times
• Accurately complete and submit timecards and other required administrative records in a timely manner
• Travel regularly to job sites, which may include overnight stays
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty mentioned satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or ability required.

Education:

High school diploma, general education degree (G.E.D.) required; technical or electrical training preferred

Experience:

• Two years of electrical, construction, or data center experience

Technical Skills:

• Computer and Microsoft Office proficiency
• Knowledge of electrical distribution systems and data center infrastructure
• Ability to follow commissioning procedures and test scripts
• Familiarity with electrical testing tools such as multimeters preferred
• Ability to read basic electrical drawings preferred
• Knowledge of NEC and electrical safety concepts preferred

• Must be able to pass pre-employment screening that includes background and drug testing

• Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds regularly
• Ability to stand, bend, climb, and work overhead for extended periods
• Ability to safely use ladders, lifts, and power toolsAbility to work in active construction and live data center environments

Ability to wear the required personal protective equipment (PPE)

Ability to work long and unpredictable hours and flexible schedules, including nights and weekends as required

Ability to travel regionally and nationally up to 75% of the time
