Job summary

Entegee is seeking an Electrical Commissioning Lead for data center projects. You will lead onsite commissioning activities, oversee QA/QC, and coordinate with construction teams, design partners, vendors, and customers to ensure systems start and perform to design intent.

This role requires extensive travel (up to 95%), a strong background in electrical commissioning, NFPA/NETA/NICET standards, and certifications such as NFPA 70E and OSHA 10. Washington DC area candidates preferred.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of electrical commissioning experience on utility, power, and life-safety systems.
• 2–3+ years in data center commissioning with Level 2–5 testing leadership.
• Proficiency with NFPA, NETA, NICET standards and code requirements.
• US citizenship and ability to pass background check; willingness to travel nationwide.

Responsibilities

• Lead onsite electrical commissioning for large-scale data center projects.
• Oversee QA/QC, startup, functional testing, and turnover of systems.
• Direct Level 4–5 commissioning while supporting Levels 0–3 activities.
• Develop and maintain commissioning docs, test records, and logs.
• Coordinate with contractors, engineers, vendors, and stakeholders to resolve issues.

Electrical Commissioning Lead – Data Center Projects

Position Overview

Lead electrical commissioning activities for mission-critical data center projects, supporting system startup, functional testing, quality verification, and project turnover. This role requires extensive field presence and close coordination with construction teams, design partners, vendors, and customer stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical discipline; equivalent relevant experience considered.
• 10+ years of progressive electrical commissioning experience supporting utility infrastructure, power distribution, low-voltage, life-safety, and building/facility systems.
• 2–3+ years of data center commissioning experience, including documentation of Level 2 and Level 3 activities and leadership of Level 4 and Level 5 testing.
• Working knowledge of NFPA, NETA, NICET, and applicable electrical testing standards and code requirements.
• Strong understanding of construction processes, electrical installation practices, and commissioning workflows.
• Experience using project quality management or commissioning documentation platforms.
• IR Thermography Level I or II certification preferred.
• Hyperscale or enterprise data center Level 4 commissioning-lead certification preferred.
• NFPA 70E certification required.
• OSHA 10 required; OSHA 30 preferred.
• U.S. Citizenship and ability to successfully complete a background investigation.
• Ability to travel up to 95% to project sites nationwide.
• Candidates located in the Washington, DC or Northern Virginia area are preferred; travel expenses may be considered for highly qualified individuals.

• Lead Level 4 and Level 5 commissioning while coordinating and supporting Level 0 through Level 3 activities.
• Develop and maintain commissioning documentation, test records, deficiency logs, and corrective-action tracking.
• Coordinate with contractors, engineers, vendors, and project stakeholders to resolve installation, startup, and performance issues.
• Verify that electrical power, low-voltage, controls, life-safety, and supporting facility systems meet design intent, applicable codes, and operational requirements.
• Support safe, reliable, and efficient data center operations through final acceptance and project turnover.
• Travel extensively to active project sites.
