Job summary

Olsson is seeking a Summer 2027 student intern to join the Data Center On-Site Services team. You will assist with testing and verifying installed electrical equipment on site, including PDUs, UPS, generators, and switchgear, and help troubleshoot issues during pre-functional and functional tests.

You will gain hands-on experience in on-site commissioning for major clients, develop testing skills, and contribute to safer, more reliable data center operations.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in an electrical discipline and able to read construction drawings.
• Strong teamwork and communication abilities are required.
• Detail-oriented with good problem-solving and safety awareness.

Responsibilities

• Assist with testing and verifying all installed electrical equipment on site (PDUs, UPS, generators, switchgear).
• Perform pre-functional and functional testing and help troubleshoot issues that arise.

Job Description

Olsson provides multidisciplinary services for a variety of data center campuses throughout the nation. As a Summer 2027 student intern on the Data Center On-Site Services team, you will perform meaningful, hands-on, real-world work that will transform your classroom experience and help you envision your future career. You will be exposed to the on-site commissioning processes for some of the world’s largest technology companies and other mission-critical clients. You will assist with testing and verifying all installed electrical equipment on site, including but not limited to power distribution units (PDUs), uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), generators, and switchgear. You will also perform pre-functional and functional testing and help troubleshoot any issues that arise.
