Job summary

Katalyst CRO in Charleston, SC seeks a senior commissioning engineer to lead and execute complex electrical commissioning across utility infrastructure and building systems. You will apply QA/QC, perform Functional Performance Testing, and coordinate with clients, contractors, and engineers to ensure design requirements are met.

This role requires a deep understanding of NFPA, NETA, NICET standards, technical writing for reports, and experience with Facility Grid cloud-based software.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related discipline or equivalent years of experience.
• At least 4 years of progressive experience in third party Owner commissioning/validation activities across utilities, life safety, and building systems.
• Working knowledge of NFPA, NETA and NICET electrical testing and code requirements.
• Understanding of the Construction and Commissioning process.
• Ability to review NETA reports, Coordination Studies, and equipment startup forms.

Education And Experience

• Bachelor's degree in related discipline or equivalent years of experience
• At least 4 years of progressive experience in third party Owner commissioning/validation activities such as: Utility infrastructure, life safety, medium and low voltage electrical power systems, low voltage systems, building/facility systems/components, and facility O&M
• Working knowledge of NFPA, NETA and NICET electrical testing and code requirements
• Understanding of the Construction and Commissioning process
• Ability to understand and perform technical document reviews of NETA reports, Coordination Studies, and equipment startup forms
• Experience executing Functional Performance Testing for electrical systems
• Technical writing skills for reporting and development of testing protocols
• Industry recognized CxA commissioning certification
• Minimum of 2 to 3 years' design experience in building systems electrical design
• Experience in industrial production and manufacturing projects
• Professional engineering license
• LEED or other sustainability certification
• Basic understanding of other trade disciplines (HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, Client)
• Familiar with cloud-based Commissioning Software (Facility Grid)
