Job summary

Integra Mission Critical, LLC. is seeking a Commissioning Specialist to join our team. You will lead commissioning testing and validation of building automation systems, ensuring performance to design specs and client expectations.

You will troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, VFDs and networking, review wiring diagrams, and collaborate with engineers and contractors through installation and turnover. Travel to project sites is required, and LEED/CCP certifications are valued.

Qualifications

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Controls or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years of commissioning building automation or controls systems experience.
  • Proficiency with BAS platforms (Siemens, Johnson Controls, Reliable Controls, Honeywell) or similar.
  • Strong understanding of PLCs, HMIs, VFDs and networking for control systems.
  • Ability to read wiring diagrams, schematics and technical manuals.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and codes (ASHRAE, NEC, ISA, ISO).
  • Excellent client facing communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel frequently to project sites.
  • LEED Accredited Professional and CCP or equivalent certification preferred.
  • OSHA 10/30 safety training and BAS manufacturer certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Commission, test and validate building automation, HVAC, and control systems.
  • Troubleshoot sensors, actuators, controllers and networked systems.
  • Perform system calibrations, tuning and adjustments for optimal performance.
  • Review wiring diagrams and control schematics; interpret technical documentation.
  • Collaborate with engineers, project managers and contractors during installation and turnover.
  • Document commissioning results, create test reports, support closeout activities.
  • Provide technical support, training, and guidance to end users and clients.
  • Ensure compliance with project specifications, safety standards, and industry regulations.
  • Support punch list resolution and system optimization during warranty period.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a Commissioning Specialist to join our team and support the successful delivery of building automation and control system projects. This role focuses on commissioning testing and validating systems to ensure they perform to design specifications safety standards and client expectations. The ideal candidate is detail oriented hands on and skilled in troubleshooting with strong communication skills to work directly with clients contractors and project teams.

What you will do
  • Commission test and validate building automation HVAC and control systems
  • Troubleshoot sensors actuators controllers and networked systems to ensure proper function
