Location

In this role you will be assigned to be on site for commissioning of Power plant projects for durations of 10-12 months at project locations in different states, within the Continental US.

Responsibilities
  • Travel and live at project sites for assigned duration
  • Lead start up and commissioning phases for Power Plants, for all electrical equipment and systems, providing oversite to the team for SOPs, processes, and safety.
  • Review and Approve all Work Authorizations and develop boundary locking plan with Authorized Requested
  • Assist Tagging Authority in LOTOs as a Lead Electrical in walking down boundaries and perform all the safety checks
  • Submit daily activity report summary to Commissioning Manager to detail progress daily. Ensure team follows all related SU procedures.
  • Oversee all electrical commissioning activities and be accountable to the Site Commissioning Manager, ensuring all SOP's, processes and Safety procedures are followed.
  • Support in developing Project specific Backfeed Timeline/Fishbone. Oversee and/or record and document equipment run ins.
  • Assist Mechanical Lead in performing check-out and commissioning of systems. Maintain jumper log/Temporary Modification list
  • Maintain updated Red-Line/As-Built drawings and documentation, ensuring that all modifications documented are tracked through completion both in the field and on all records.
  • Oversee electrical commissioning sub-contractors. Develop a detailed testing plan to complete all subcontractor testing.
  • Complete all Electrical pre checkout forms prior to energization of any equipment, in addition to any post energization forms.
  • Energization procedures should be followed, and any deviations will require Commissioning Manager and Commissioning Director written approval.
  • Troubleshoot electrical commissioning issues. Work with I&C & DCS Leads in the loop verification process.
  • Elevate issues to Site Commissioning Manager in a timely manner. Develop action plan to address any issues.
  • Ensure adverse conditions and lessons learned reports are generated when necessary.
  • Read and adhere to Startup Administration Manual. Ensure electrical personnel attend and/or support all required walk-downs.
  • Submits RFI (Request for Information) to engineering as needed. Track and submit Quality Incident Reports (QIR) and Condition Reports (CR)
  • Assist the Commissioning Manager with ordering and maintaining Spare Parts and Consumable list for the discipline. Ensure to have all the necessary calibrated testing tools and equipment throughout the commissioning period.
Qualifications

An Associate's degree in Electrical Technology or a related field, or equivalent job-related experience
Ten years of experience working as a lead or senior position in electrical commissioning/startup of power plants
Expertise in the installation, testing, operation, repair, and maintenance of industrial process electrical devices and power distribution systems
Knowledge of electrical principles and controls methods and practice
Ability to supervise and train others in testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and operating and maintaining electrical equipment and power distribution systems
Ability to create and implement a project schedule to complete assigned daily work and achieve commissioning goals
Experience in Electrical Technology, specifically related to commissioning of power plants

Base Compensation:$140,000 -$175,000

(Actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education, experience, skillset, and/or location)
