Job summary

Connect Force, located in Farmington Hills, MI, is seeking an Automation Commissioning Technician to join our manufacturing equipment team. The role focuses on in-house commissioning, startup, and validation of automated systems with strong collaboration to ensure on-spec performance before shipment.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years in industrial automation, interpret electrical diagrams, and troubleshoot across PLCs, servo, hydraulic, and mechanical subsystems.

Qualifications

• 2+ years with industrial automation equipment.
• Experience in machine build, controls, commissioning, maintenance, or service.
• Ability to interpret electrical schematics.
• Mechanical troubleshooting experience.
• PLC familiarity preferred.
• Strong communication skills.
• Self-motivated and dependable.

Responsibilities

• Commission newly built automated machinery in-house.
• Perform startup and machine validation.
• Troubleshoot electrical, PLC, servo, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.
• Verify equipment performance meets customer specifications.
• Support machine testing prior to shipment.
• Assist engineering with design improvements.
• Diagnose controls and automation issues.

We're partnering with a leading manufacturer of precision automation equipment that is expanding its engineering team.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys commissioning, troubleshooting, machine startups, and automation—but prefers staying local rather than traveling extensively.

You'll work directly with engineering and production teams to bring custom manufacturing equipment to life before shipment and support local customer installations when needed.
