Job Summary
The Electrical & Commissioning Engineer will complete the installation and commissioning of the Gas Engine at customer sites. As the key technical lead for problem solving on the engine at the customer site, the role will be the first line of contact with the customer for problems solving and learning. The additional responsibilities for the engineer are (1) creating parts lists and detailed specifications to purchase materials/parts and to machine/assemble/test for control valves (2) issuing required documents for customers such as delivery specifications and spare parts lists and (3) performing assigned engineering works in accordance with ability. In engineering, maintaining on-time delivery and good quality and enhancing cost-out projects are at the top of the list of priorities as well as the ability to perform the Commissioning Engineering activities on site. You may be assigned other duties to help proactively drive our FieldCore vision and align with our organization’s core values.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Be responsible for the commissioning of Gas Engines at customer site locations
  • Provide assistance to customers, operating staff and other field personnel on the installation
  • Perform troubleshooting activities on site to diagnose problems, determine appropriate resolution and implement corrective actions
  • Resolve technical issues, foster knowledge sharing and help others
  • Explain technical issues in a concise way
  • Act as interface between customer and channel partner
  • Provide external and internal reports in a timely, accurate, and professional manner
  • Identify and report all customer quality or compliance concerns immediately to the organization
  • Build a strong customer relationship through a positive, proactive & professional approach
  • Maintain tools and test equipment properly and ensure they’re calibration
  • Prepare schedule, safety document and tendering support.
  • Receive Permit To Work to implement the planned job task.
  • Prove a strong safety mindset to ensure the executed work reflects the technical requirements along with the safety standards
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Travel may be required for training purpose or supporting oversea’s project.
  • Ability and willingness to work holidays, weekends and overtime as required by field assignments
Required Qualifications & Experience:
  • Degree in an electrical technical discipline such as automotive, electrical, or other related discipline (High School Diploma with a minimum of 5 years of experience in a field service role with reciprocating engines)
  • 6+ years of field service experience in servicing or commissioning large industrial reciprocating engines
  • Must hold or be eligible to obtain registration as a Registered Electrical Worker (REW) with the Registered Electrical and Mechanical Services Department (EMSD)
  • Candidates with Grade A or Grade B certification are preferred, Grade H certification is an advantage.
  • Electrical (Control & Instrument) background, testing calibration, reading of wire diagrams etc.
  • Worked in Power services industries as a Competent Person.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to communicate complex technical issues in an understandable manner
  • Professional knowledge of control technologies and (SPS) programming
  • Strong customer orientation and ability to deliver consistently a high level of performance
  • Fluent in English, Cantonese and Mandarin

  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, provide support for field services with broad knowledge of processes/procedures and identify/solve a range of complex problems
