Job summary

Vertical Mechanical Group in Reston, VA, is seeking a Commissioning Engineer to lead commissioning of advanced HVAC and plumbing systems for commercial projects. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, HVAC, or related field with 4+ years in MEP commissioning.
• Commissioning Certification (BCxP, CxA, CxT, CCP, etc.) preferred but not required.
• Strong understanding of HVAC, plumbing, and control systems; familiarity with diagnostic tools.
• Ability to read design documents and specifications; knowledge of operations and controls.
• Willingness to travel to DMV region up to 30-40%.

Requirements For This Role Include

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, HVAC, or a construction related field AND 4+ years of experience in MEP systems commissioning, testing, or a related field.
• Commissioning Certification (BCxP, CxA, CxT, CCP, etc.) preferred, not required.
• Possess a strong understanding of HVAC systems, plumbing systems, and control systems. Familiarity with diagnostic tools and testing equipment.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting design documents and specifications, specifically a strong understanding of operations and controls.
• Ability to travel to different project locations, specifically in the DMV region, as required.

This position is based at our HQ in Reston, VA. This role will also require travel to work sites in the DMV area, which can be up to 30-40% of the role.
