Position Summary

The Commissioning Engineer is responsible for establishing key field inspection elements, constructing and verifying the Required Document List (RDL) for each commissioning package, and conducting detailed documentation inspections to identify and resolve deficiencies before field deployment. Furthermore, the role manages deficiency logs, organizes field support activities (including meetings, mock‑ups, and incident response), and fulfills all CPMS‑related requirements to ensure timely, compliant, and efficient project delivery.

Role And Responsibilities
Here’s What You’ll Be Responsible For:
  • Coaching technicians and helping prepare site activities – define the critical elements that need to be inspected in the field.
  • Required Document List (RDL) (per commissioning package (3600 packages)) creation – this is a Critical Job Function. The RDL is a list of documents required per the contract documents and specifications (product data, layouts, inspections, test reports and much more). The RDL must be comprehensively built for the exact equipment that is present in the Commissioning Package. This takes careful attention and scrutiny to do correctly.
  • Documentation Inspection – This is the careful process of reviewing the documentation provided by the contractors to ensure they meet the specifications and are correct in and of themselves – remember, subcontractors are creating and delivering most of this information, we find many problems (dozens to hundreds) that make it to the field and/or cause delays and could have been caught and addressed earlier in the process. Documentation inspection includes very detailed review of test procedures and results and may result in deficiencies that require remedy. This is a critical function.
  • Deficiency Log analysis and Approval – before issuance to contracting chain, including follow‑up and closure.
  • Field Support (meetings, mockups, incidents, etc.)
  • Support and perform all related CPMS functions.
Skills And Qualifications
Here’s what you’ll need:
  • BS in an Engineering field (Mech, Elec, Chem, Industrial, Civil/Construction) is preferred.
  • Minimum of (3) three years of work experience is a plus.
  • Quality experience is a plus.
  • Construction experience is a plus.
  • Must have the ability to work at desk for full days/extended periods of time but also mobilize to field when necessary.
