The Industrial Technician is a critical member of the electrical maintenance team, responsible for the safe, reliable, and code‑compliant operation of all electrical infrastructure. This role leads the commissioning of new equipment, performs preventive maintenance and rapid troubleshooting on a wide voltage range (24VDC–12.5KVAC), and drives continuous improvement through robust documentation and data‑driven decisions. With recent NFPA70B updates elevating many best‑practice recommendations to mandatory standards, the technician's expertise directly safeguards production output, equipment availability, and plant profitability.

Role and Responsibilities

Here’s what you’ll be responsible for:

  • Support commissioning of new electrical equipment. Verify installations meet NEC, SAS, and industry specifications.
  • Complete all QA/QC checks on schedule to ensure safe, reliable integration and avoid costly re‑work.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and rapid troubleshooting on relay controls, variable frequency drives, electrical panels, and motor control centers, reducing MTTR and boosting overall equipment effectiveness.
  • Create and author comprehensive policies, SOPs, and operational guidelines that standardize maintenance and operational practices.
  • Support installation schedules, coordinate with contractors, and track progress via CMMS ensuring retrofits, upgrades, and new builds stay on‑budget and on‑time.
  • Train technicians and collaborate with engineers, management, and customers on newly installed infrastructure.
  • Use CMMS for maintenance tracking and inventory control by logging repairs and preventive maintenance, enabling data‑driven decision‑making to support the FAB’s reliability targets.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Education & Experience – Minimum 2 years working with electrical systems, motor control circuits, or automation equipment; a high school diploma/GED is required; a technical school diploma, associate degree, or industrial maintenance background is strongly preferred.
  • NEC Expertise – Proven proficiency in NEC through maintenance or electrical projects.
  • CMMS Proficiency – Ability to navigate a Computerized Maintenance Management System to log repairs, manage parts inventory, and schedule preventive maintenance tasks.
  • Hands‑on Electrical Skills – Practical experience with wiring, relay controls, and motor control centers, ensuring safe and reliable equipment operation.
  • Problem‑solving Mindset – Demonstrated track record of diagnosing and resolving complex electrical/automation issues with minimal downtime.
