Responsibilities
  • Act as a commissioning agent for mechanical systems, including cooling/heating, plumbing, fire, fuel oil, and BMS systems across various environments.
  • Manage projects, develop plans, review specifications, drawings, and equipment submittals, and execute assignments in a multidisciplinary engineering commissioning role for large facility projects.
  • Review design criteria, specifications, drawings, and documentation relevant to commissioning.
  • Adhere to quality management and QC processes to validate and document client systems.
  • Gather and assemble documentation, drawings, and data from clients, vendors, and contractors.
  • Develop site-specific commissioning plans.
  • Review factory witness test procedures for major equipment and attend witness tests, reporting deficiencies.
  • Lead commissioning meetings, ensure proper documentation, and develop/maintain logs and checklists.
  • Develop and execute functional tests for various mechanical systems.
  • Write comprehensive final commissioning reports.
  • Manage external resources, coordinate meetings, and attend construction and coordination meetings as needed.
  • Interface with clients, contractors, vendors, and project teams; execute project assignments.
  • Submit progress reports and meeting notes; respond to customer inquiries exceeding expectations.
Skills & Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent military/industrial training with 3+ years of experience in mechanical/controls engineering, energy services, plant operations, or related fields, or Construction Management.
  • Previous experience in data centers or mission-critical environments.
  • Experience with commissioning or maintaining electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Strong communication skills, especially with general contractors.
  • Knowledge of industry codes, standards, and construction materials and methods.
