Our mission is to serve injured workers and Ohio employers through expeditious and impartial resolution of issues arising from workers’ compensation claims and through the establishment of adjudication policy.
The Commission Level Hearings department is seeking an experienced hearing officer. The Commission Level Hearings department processes work directly for the Commissioners. Hearing officers assigned to the department will review documented 3rd level appeals and present a detailed, written synopsis of all requests for reconsideration filed, of which the three (3) Commissioners will vote. Hearing officers assigned to the Commission Level Hearings department also provide guidance and assistance to the Commissioners at Commission Level Hearings at the request of the Commissioners. Since Appeals and Requests for Reconsideration at the Commission level are discretionary and must meet certain criteria if they are deemed appropriate for hearing, there are tight statutory time frames, and work is planned accordingly. Travel requirements are minimal in this position and most work is completed in the Columbus Regional Office.
