We are seeking a commission-based Remote Technical Writer / Service Designer with a strong foundation in business, procurement, legal studies, or systems engineering to support solution development within the government contracting space. This role is ideal for candidates who are analytical, business-savvy, and skilled in translating complex requirements into structured, compliant, and strategically compelling service offerings.

You will be responsible for interpreting federal, state, and local government solicitation requirements and designing innovative service and product concepts that align with regulatory expectations and business goals. Your work will contribute directly to competitive proposals by shaping offerings that are both functional and market relevant.

This is a remote, project-based position with compensation tied to contract wins or successful proposal submissions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze agency solicitations (e.g., SOWs, PWSs, RFQs, RFPs) and translate requirements into compliant, clearly structured service solutions.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (business development, compliance, operations) to define service scope, technical features, and delivery models.
  • Develop mockups, workflows, and pricing models that meet contract requirements and highlight differentiators.
  • Create proposal-ready materials, including diagrams, cost structures (e.g., BOEs), and service descriptions aligned with government acquisition standards.
  • Incorporate stakeholder feedback from clients, partners, and internal SMEs to refine deliverables.
  • Use visual design and communication tools (e.g., Adobe Illustrator, Visio, PowerPoint) to present information clearly and effectively.
  • Provide solutions input during proposal development phases to help secure government contracts.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Procurement & Contract Management, Legal Studies, Systems Engineering, Product Design, or related discipline.
  • Strong familiarity with U.S. government procurement processes and contracting frameworks (e.g., FAR, SOWs, RFPs, compliance).
  • Experience developing or structuring business-oriented solutions, especially in the B2B or government sectors.
  • Ability to produce visually compelling, technically accurate, and strategically positioned deliverables for proposals.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint, Adobe Illustrator, Visio, or equivalent platforms.
  • Strong analytical and synthesis skills—able to turn ambiguous requirements into structured, actionable solutions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a clear, business-oriented presentation style.
