Schedule: Sunday through Thursday, 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., with occasional overtime as needed
Pay: $15.00 per hour, with a $0.50 step increase after 90 days and an additional $0.50 step increase after 6 months
Position Summary
Sheehan Brothers Vending Service is seeking a dependable, organized, and hardworking Warehouse & Commissary Associate to support both warehouse operations and commissary production.
This hybrid position will begin each day assisting the Warehouse Manager with receiving incoming deliveries, unloading and putting away products, organizing inventory and storage areas, and completing other warehouse-related responsibilities. Once daily warehouse responsibilities are completed, the employee will transition to the Commissary production floor to assist with food preparation, packaging, stocking, cleaning, and other production needs.
The ideal candidate is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, is able to shift between responsibilities throughout the day, and takes pride in maintaining organized, clean, and efficient work areas.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Warehouse Responsibilities
- Assist the Warehouse Manager with the daily operation and organization of the warehouse area.
- Receive incoming truck deliveries and assist with unloading products and supplies.
- Verify and organize received products and place items in their designated storage locations.
- Put away incoming orders accurately and efficiently.
- Maintain clean, organized, and easily accessible warehouse and storage areas.
- Rotate products and inventory as necessary to help maintain proper product dating and organization.
- Assist with monitoring inventory levels and notify the Warehouse Manager or supervisor when supplies or products are running low.
- Move food, supplies, equipment, and other materials between warehouse, storage, and Commissary areas as needed.
- Assist with organizing coolers, freezers, dry storage, and other designated storage areas.
- Help ensure products and supplies are stored safely and properly to prevent damage or spoilage.
- Maintain clean and safe warehouse work areas.
- Follow all company safety, sanitation, and food-handling procedures.
- Assist the Warehouse Manager with additional warehouse projects and responsibilities as assigned.
Commissary Production Responsibilities
- Perform a variety of food preparation and packaging duties.
- Clean work areas, equipment, utensils, dishes, and other production materials.
- Store food in designated containers and storage areas to prevent spoilage.
- Inform supervisors when supplies are running low or equipment is not functioning properly.
- Carry food supplies, equipment, and utensils to and from storage and work areas.
- Portion, wrap, label, and package food products.
- Read production charts and instructions to determine the amount and type of food and supplies to be prepared or packaged.
- Package food and products into route coolers according to production requirements.
- Double-check products and packaging for accuracy and quality.
- Assist other Commissary employees as needed to ensure production is completed accurately and on schedule.
- Maintain clean, organized, and sanitary workstations.
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and company procedures.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate)preferred
- Previous food service experience preferred but not required
