Job Summary:

Prepares, tests, and sets up all equipment technology pieces in the production floor. Ensures that all production PLC’s work appropriately and calibrates every equipment to perform as per equipment operating procedure. Commissions every piece of equipment and gets it ready to perform the daily production schedule. Ensures that all equipment PLC’s are in proper working condition and reports immediately any visible water damage. Ensures that all dates, codes, and product information are input correctly in all equipment pieces and that matches the day’s production schedule. Executes HACCP under the direction of the Quality Assurance team. Works closely with the Maintenance department in providing preventive maintenance to each piece of equipment. Executes the daily production work as per the Production Manager’s schedule, following the company’s GMP’s policies and procedures. Ensures all processes meet customer’s specification requirements and minimizes risk to the company.

Works all PLC-related equipment with precision and the utmost safety procedures as per company guidelines. Assists the Production Manager in cooking, packing, x-ray detection, and chilling products that meet established quality, customer service, safety, sanitation, innovation, and cost metrics consistent with schedules and policies at the back of the house. Executes work standards and maintains improvement through sustaining behaviors, operating with discipline and rigor. Using daily production scheduling as a base, batches, mixes, and cooks all recipes in steam kettles ensuring proper temperatures are reached in every step of the formula. Has a solid understanding of computers to operate PLC programs in every processing/packing equipment. Works closely with kettle cooks in the evacuation of kettle product. Works closely with sanitation to clean and maintain equipment in optimum sanitary conditions. Consistently applies all Company Policies and Procedures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The essential duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Assists the Production Manager in executing daily production scheduling of the entire facility.
  • Executes the lock-out/tag-out program in his/her area of responsibility.
  • Packs, x-rays, chills all finished products according to recipe.
  • Follows formula’s procedural steps rigidly, never deviating from the recipe.
  • Practices safety procedures as per training in the handling of all process equipment.
  • Reports immediately any unsafe equipment or malfunction. Works in conjunction with the Maintenance department to maintain a preventive maintenance program in all related equipment.
  • Responsible for his/her safety and the well-being of plant associates.
  • Executes the quality assurance program as per company standards.
  • Responsible for keeping the work area or assembly line in optimum sanitation condition and ensures that all SOP’s, HACCP & SSOP’s are executed as planned.
  • Follows company standards in the execution of the allergen program and immediately reports any deviation.
  • Fills all paperwork with accuracy related to temperature checks, traceability, and sequential process.
  • Conducts all formulation with precision and double checks all weights and measures. Records in recipe every procedural step. Initials every completed step in formula.
  • Ensures that all equipment is properly calibrated and sanitized before use.
  • Rigorously executes the GMP’s standard operating procedure.
  • Prevents and reports immediately any potential cross-contamination situation.
General Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Follows company policies and procedures clocking in & out for the shift and breaks.
  • Uses adequate protective gear in the handling of electrical connections, hydraulics, and pneumatics, as per company’s policies and procedures.
  • Assists Plant Management on all product changeovers.
  • Maintains positive relationships among all levels of associates.
Qualifications:

  • Must have strong computer skills.
  • Must have a food handlers’ certification.

  • Understands the ability to work prep production lines or stations with hands on.
  • Ability to understand and effectively communicate the daily production requirements.
  • Proactive, resourceful & highly motivated with good communication skills and ability to work in a high output environment.
  • Able to demonstrate attention to detail and follow through in all areas of responsibility.
  • Must be able to lift 30 Lbs. frequently and 40 Lbs. occasionally; stand, reach, climb, and lift frequently.
  • Must be able to work with others and coordinate production with co-workers.
  • Must work with minimum or no supervision.
  • Must have an excellent attendance record, reliable and flexible when seasonal work is occasionally required.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must have willingness to learn and follow direction.
Education and/or Experience:

2+ years’ demonstrated manufacturing & processing supervisory experience in roles of increasing responsibility demonstrating the ability to achieve results. High School diploma.

Language Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to read, write and speak English satisfactorily to perform the essential functions. Bi-lingual English Spanish highly desirable.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to calculate basic figures and amounts for formulation and assembly.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.

Computer Skills:

Basic ability to understand batching process in control panels of kettles. The kitchen environment may be subject to extreme temperatures with exposure to heat, water, noise, and some chemicals.
