Overview

Green Sage Cafe is seeking a dedicated Commissary Cook to join our vibrant and busy cafe. We value individuals who can uphold our commitment to preparing healthy, delicious meals using organic, all-natural, and local ingredients. Our menu caters to various dietary restrictions, including vegan, gluten-sensitive, and dairy-free options. Ideal candidates are team players, dependable, respectful, and proactive. Shifts are scheduled between 7am-5pm, with no late nights required. There is room for career growth within the company.

Responsibilities

The primary role of the Commissary Cook/Delivery Driver is to accurately and efficiently prepare, cook, and assemble bulk prep, bakery, and juice items in the commissary kitchen, as well as deliver orders to cafe locations. The role also involves assisting with food prep, catering, and kitchen cleaning as needed, supporting the delivery and quality of products for the commissary and cafe.

  1. Train and adhere to commissary prep items and recipes following Green Sage standards.
  2. Operate commissary kitchen equipment safely and effectively.
  3. Prepare all bulk, bakery, and juice items according to recipes and proper procedures.
  4. Assemble and deliver commissary orders accurately to cafe locations.
  5. Load, deliver, and unload orders on schedule.
  6. Assist with additional driving tasks, including catering drop-offs and store runs.
  7. Support the cafe with food prep, catering, and cleaning tasks as requested.
  8. Maintain freshness and sanitation standards in compliance with health codes and policies.
  9. Receive, store, and rotate deliveries properly.
  10. Set up, break down, and clean the commissary kitchen following checklists and guidelines.

Requirements
  • Weekend availability is required.
  • Ability to stand for six hours or more per day.
  • Excellent driving skills with a clean record.
  • Capability to lift at least 50 pounds regularly.
  • At least 1 year of restaurant cook or prep experience.
  • Flexibility with job duties and ability to multitask efficiently.
