Avflight Flint is seeking a part-time Airport Catering Assistant to prepare and deliver catering carts and on-board amenities for scheduled flights. You will drive a truck to the aircraft, stock carts, and ensure accurate loading and unloading while maintaining safety.

Qualifications

  • Authorized to work in the U.S. and have valid driver's license.
  • Ability to read and write English; bilingual skills a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare aircraft catering carts/bins with beverages, ice, snacks.
  • Drive truck to the aircraft and deliver carts/bins.
  • Load/unload and stock catering items with care.
  • Maintain safety and security per FAA and airport rules.
  • Interact professionally with airline staff and customers.
  • Inventory supplies and complete required reports.
  • Assist with cabin cleaning and on-board amenities as needed.

Job Details:

Job Location: Avflight Flint - Flint, MI, Position Type: Part Time, Education Level: High School/GED Equivalent, Salary Range: $14.00 - $14.00Hourly, Job Shift: Other, General Purpose of Job: This position is responsible for preparing and delivering aircraft catering carts/bins and on-board amenities as needed by the airline for all scheduled flights.

Duties:
  • Prepare aircraft catering carts and/or bins with beverages, ice, liquor, snacks
  • Drives truck to the aircraft
  • Deliver stocked catering carts and bins to aircraft and remove empty carts/bins from aircraft
  • Responsible for courteous, prompt, accurate and careful handling of food and goods, including loading and unloading
  • Inventory supplies and complete necessary reports and forms
  • Receive delivery from vendors
  • Assists with loading and unloading of aircraft
  • Clean and service cabin interiors, including cockpit, lavatories, and draining when needed
  • Interacts with airline representatives at the aircraft in a professional manner
  • Communicates with customers, vendors and colleagues over the telephone and /or radio for planning purposes
  • Provide excellent customer service to all of our customers
  • Ensures FAA, Airline, and airport regulations are followed
  • Enforces safety/security measures and protects sensitive zones
  • Other duties as assigned by the base supervisor
Qualifications: Qualifications:
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to push/pull/lift 50 lbs. for extended periods of time
  • Ability to read and write English; bilingual skills a plus
  • Ability to work efficiently under time constraints
  • Must be available to work varied hours including swing and graveyard shifts plus weekends and holidays
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent
  • Must pass background check, pre-employment drug test and obtain security clearance
  • Must have authorization to work in the U.S.
  • Must have valid Driver's license
  • Must be willing to work outside in all types of weather and elevated noise levels within the airport environment
Physical Demands:

Must be able to lift and carry up to 50lbs frequently; must be able to work at heights up to 25 feet or more depending upon the type of aircraft; must have physical dexterity sufficient to perform repetitive tasks and motions, including bending at the waist and knees, squatting, kneeling, crawling, twisting and sustaining those positions for extended amounts of time. Must have sufficient vision and ability to safely perform the essential functions of the position.

Work Environment:

Airport environment: Indoors and Outdoors. Extreme outdoor conditions where extreme temperature ranges may be encountered.
