Commercial Tire Technician - Birmingham, AL

As a Commercial Tire Technician at Wilks Truck Center, you will be responsible for safely performing tire and related services for all commercial tire users both in the truck center and on the road. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

1. Servicing commercial tires, including dismounting and mounting any type of tire.
2. Training to perform match mounting, match mating dual assemblies, and radial runout as necessary.
3. Inflating tires to prescribed PSI per load requirements.
4. Performing roadside service calls on a rotating on-call schedule.
5. Determining repairable tire conditions and making repairs.
6. Removing tires for retreading or repair as needed.
7. Responding promptly to customer service calls, diagnosing issues, and performing on-site repairs or replacements.
8. Cleaning and maintaining service equipment.
9. Properly maintaining the assigned service vehicle, including appearance of on-board equipment.
10. Wearing proper PPE, using tire cages, and following all safety policies and procedures.
11. Performing manual tasks for extended periods, including lifting, standing, bending, and squatting.
12. Reporting safety issues immediately to management.
13. Maintaining a clean and organized shop environment.
14. Performing other duties as assigned by management.

Basic Qualifications:

• Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Legally authorized to work in the U.S.

Preferred Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED.
