Our Commercial Underwriting Office is currently seeking an Entertainment and Recreation industry expert. This role is responsible for collaborating with stakeholders to identify business requirements and develop strategies to deliver industry-specific content, guidelines, and process improvements. The role also involves establishing relationships within practice teams of key brokers and educating associates on underwriting guidelines to ensure proper risk selection. You will leverage your underwriting and industry expertise to manage the Entertainment and Recreation book across the Commercial Lines enterprise, aligning business strategies with production goals.

Many departments at our headquarters in Fairfield, Ohio, offer hybrid work options, empowering associates to work from home several days a week. Depending on your role and responsibilities, these options may be available for those working at headquarters.

The pay range for this position is $75,000 - $150,000 annually, based on education, experience, location, knowledge, skills, and abilities. Eligible associates may also receive an annual cash bonus and stock incentives based on performance.

Be ready to:

  • Participate in business initiatives by collaborating with stakeholders across the Commercial Lines enterprise, including IT, Claims, Sales, Loss Control, Commercial Product, and other departments.
  • Develop industry-specific underwriting and training tools to empower associates and increase underwriting acumen across all business units.
  • Support Sales by articulating our appetite at local, state, and national levels to increase submission count.
  • Interact with departmental leadership, providing feedback on strategic objectives and transforming those into practical, sustainable solutions.
  • Conduct book analysis to identify trends and opportunities to strengthen the book profile.
  • Develop and monitor industry-specific underwriting guidelines.
  • Assist in R&D efforts with other stakeholders to create new products and improve the value proposition across Commercial Lines.
  • Provide thought leadership in your area of expertise, including drafting white papers, first alerts, and participating in industry panels.
  • Support Learning & Development training efforts within Commercial Lines and externally with our agency partners.
  • Stay informed about current market conditions, products, coverage needs, and industry involvement.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key brokers, agents, and industry influencers to assess risk tolerance, market appetite, and emerging issues.
  • Maintain industry-specific association and vendor relationships.
