What We Do

Manages the day-to-day activities of a team of Underwriters and may manage title professionals and support personnel that provide underwriting support and expertise to company personnel, attorneys, and customers, related to the issuance of real estate title insurance commitments and policies. Utilizes underwriting standards and guidelines within delegated authority limits, to underwrite the issuance of title insurance and provide guidance in the performance of real estate settlement services. Develops and retains a commercial agent and customer client base.

HOW YOU’LL CONTRIBUTE

• Manage and set priorities for the daily operations of the Miami business unit of the National Commercial Services division.
• Manage a group of professionals responsible for title operations, providing direct and indirect supervision.
• Contribute to underwriting reviews.
• Participate in long-range departmental planning and provide input to operational decisions.
• Conduct employee performance reviews and provide ongoing feedback through coaching. Make hiring and compensation recommendations.
• Act in a senior capacity providing commercial underwriting service and support to attorneys and division personnel involved in commercial transactions.
• Develop and maintain effective business relationships with attorneys and clients to develop and retain profitable business.
• Assess client potential for growth and serve their underwriting needs.
• Use underwriting standards within delegated authority to underwrite title insurance and guide real estate settlement services.
• Communicate proactively with internal and external customers.
• Attend real estate industry functions and participate in community events to increase visibility in Florida.
• Develop underwriting strategies with Senior Management.
• Assess and develop operational plans aligned with broader strategies.
• Partner with other departments to align underwriting tactics with industry standards.
• Train the underwriting team to ensure process integrity.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

Required Education, Experience, Certification/Licensure

• Law Degree required.
• 5-7 years of underwriting experience focusing on complex commercial transactions.
• Supervisory or management experience preferred.
• Experience in National Commercial division preferred.

Pay Range: $114,600 - $152,800 Annually

This range is an estimate based on various factors including experience, skills, and location.
