Software Placement Group is seeking a Commercial Underwriting Counsel to provide legal and underwriting guidance on complex commercial real estate transactions.

This role suits a commercial real estate attorney or experienced title underwriter who enjoys applying legal analysis to real estate matters, solving problems in real time, and partnering with internal teams and clients to deliver high-quality service.

Qualifications

• JD from an ABA-accredited law school required.
• Active Bar Admission in Georgia, in good standing.
• 5-7 years of substantive experience in title insurance underwriting or comparable commercial real estate experience in a law firm setting.
• Strong knowledge of commercial real estate law, including federal and Georgia state regulations.
• Proven ability to interpret and apply underwriting standards within delegated authority limits.
• Solid understanding of commercial real estate transactions, title insurance, and closing settlement processes, and applicable federal and state regulations.
• Strong relationship-building skills with internal stakeholders and clients.
• Strong analytical, negotiation, and business acumen.
• Exceptional organizational skills, with the ability to multi-task and manage significant transaction volume.
• Effective verbal and written communicator who can deliver guidance with clarity, professionalism, and diplomacy.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess risk and provide practical solutions.
• Collaborative mindset with ability to act decisively when needed.
• Creative, solution-oriented approach to resolving complex title challenges.
• Ability to work hybrid 3 days a week into an Atlanta-metro area based office.
