Job summary

Orion Placement is seeking a qualified attorney to join a respected New Jersey law firm specializing in commercial and business law. You will work directly with businesses and individuals on sophisticated transactional matters, drafting and negotiating contracts and advising on governance and structuring.

This role requires NJ licensure and 1+ year of commercial transactional experience, with opportunities for long-term growth, client development, and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Licensed to practice law in New Jersey.
• 1+ year of commercial transactional law experience.
• Experience drafting and negotiating commercial contracts.
• Strong legal writing, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and client relationship abilities.
• Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate a wide variety of commercial contracts and business agreements.
• Advise clients on business transactions, corporate governance, and day-to-day legal matters.
• Assist with business formations, mergers, acquisitions, asset purchases, and entity restructurings.
• Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda, agreements, and transactional documents.
• Participate in due diligence and support complex commercial transactions.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships while providing practical business-focused legal advice.
• Collaborate with attorneys across multiple practice areas to deliver comprehensive client solutions.
• Participate in networking and business development initiatives to help grow the firm's transactional practice.

Location:

Freehold, New Jersey – On-site. Join our collaborative office where attorneys work closely together every day. Limited remote flexibility is available only for weekends or emergency situations.

Note:

Applicants must be licensed to practice law in the State of New Jersey and have 1+ year of commercial transactional law experience. Candidates with more senior experience, as well as those coming from in-house or solo practice backgrounds, are encouraged to apply if they have relevant transactional experience and are within commuting distance of Freehold.
