Job summary

K&R Tire is seeking a dedicated Commercial Tire Technician to join our West Michigan team. We operate across Grand Rapids, Holland, Kalamazoo, and more, delivering reliable tire services and fostering customer relationships.

You will dismount, mount, and repair commercial tires, perform on-site services, and collaborate with shop teams. A commitment to safety and professional development is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience with commercial tires and PLT tires and mounting processes.
• Ability to lift, pull, or push tires weighing 30-250 lbs.
• Proficiency in handling tire installation and repair with or without tools.

Responsibilities

• Dismount, mount, and repair commercial and PLT truck tires.
• Inspect vehicles using company equipment.
• Perform onsite tire installation and repair at customer locations.
• Ensure safe operation of company vehicles and comply with traffic regulations.
• Work outdoors in varying weather.
• Maintain a clean work environment and care for equipment.
• Participate in training and follow safety procedures and company policies.
• Develop and maintain positive customer relationships.
• Work as a team in the shop for tire needs.

Responsibilities

• Dismount, mount, and repair commercial and PLT truck tires
• Inspect vehicles using company-provided equipment
• Perform onsite tire installation and repair services at customer locations
• Ensure the safe operation of company vehicles, adhering to all traffic regulations
• Work outdoors in various weather conditions
• Maintain a clean work environment and properly care for equipment
• Participate in training sessions and adhere to safety procedures and company policies
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with customers
• Work as a team member in the shop for customer tire needs

Qualifications

• Experience with commercial and PLT tires
• Knowledge of commercial and PLT tiresand the mounting processes
• Ability to lift, pull, or push tires weighing between 30-250 lbs
• Proficiency in mounting commercial and PLTtires with or without mechanical assistance
• Capability to safely change and repair commercial/PLTtires in all weather conditions
• Ability to be on acall rotation for 24hr service
• Effective communication skills
• Strong time management abilities
• Basic computer skills
