Job summary

Tire Den, INC. in Rock Springs, WY is seeking a Tire Technician to service tires and related repairs at the store, on customer sites, and during roadside calls.

You will operate a mobile service truck, uphold safety standards, and deliver high-quality service with a strong work ethic. Lifting up to 50 lbs and weekend work are part of the job.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
• Ability to work weekends and on-call.
• Lift 50 lbs and perform physical tire-related tasks.
• Proactive, reliable, and safety-conscious.

Responsibilities

• Mount/dismount tires on retail vehicles, trucks, and trailers; train on safety equipment.
• Balance tires to ensure proper weight distribution.
• Identify and repair punctures or tire damage.
• Patch or plug tires as needed.
• Evaluate vehicles and trailers; lift using proper equipment per safety rules.
• Rotate tires regularly to promote even tread wear.
• Operate a Standard Commercial Service Truck and work from a mobile unit.
• Respond to service calls at customer locations, including highways and job sites.
• Maintain and stock mobile unit with tools and supplies.
• Coordinate with service coordinator and document calls accordingly.

As a Tire Technician, you will be responsible for all aspects of tire and related service and repair. Applicants for this position must be able to drive a service vehicle to where a customer is having a problem and be able to repair or replace their tire(s) as needed. Job duties may be performed at the store location, at customer locations, and on roadside service calls. This position operates in all types of indoor and outdoor work environments, therefore exposure to heat and cold is to be expected. Strong work ethic along with excellent performance in safety and attendance is expected.

Responsibilities

• Mounting and dismounting tires on retail vehicles, medium trucks, and trailers. Including training and use of additional safety equipment for enhanced danger.
• Balancing tires to ensure proper weight distribution. Understanding additional balance mechanisms such as balance beads and balance rings.
• Identifying and repairing punctures or other damage to tires and/or tubes.
• Patching or plugging tires as necessary.
• Evaluating retail vehicles, medium trucks, and trailers, lifting using proper equipment in accordance with safety protocols.
• Rotating tires at regular intervals to promote even tread wear, including medium truck and trailer patterns.
• Operate a Standard Commercial Service Truck (No Boom)
• Performing all the above tasks out of a mobile service truck.
• Responding to service calls dispatched to customer locations, which may include highways, parking lots, or job sites.
• Proper use of mobile equipment that may be different than equipment used at the store.
• Ensuring the mobile unit is properly maintained and stocked with necessary tools, equipment, and supplies.
• Efficiently managing time to respond promptly to service calls and complete on-site services.
• Maintaining communication with a service coordinator throughout service calls and documenting service call properly depending on customer needs

Qualifications/Experience Required

• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
• Demonstrate a strong work ethic
• Be professional in demeanor and attire
• Possess a high level of integrity, trustworthiness, reliability and accountability
• Ability to:
• Work weekends and on call.
• Plan and prioritize work efficiently while upholding excellent quality standards.

• Pass a pre-hire drug screen
• Lift 50lbs

Preferred

• Retail or commercial tire or automotive service experience
• TIA Certification
• Service Truck Experience
• Proficiency using computers/POS system
