Job summary

Southern Tire Mart in Avoca, IA is seeking a tire technician to mount, balance, rotate, and repair tires across passenger cars, light and heavy trucks, and commercial vehicles. You will diagnose mechanical issues and respond to roadside service calls when needed.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Able to lift 30–250 lbs., with or without aids.
• Flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Mount, balance, rotate, and repair tires across passenger cars, light trucks, large trucks, and industrial vehicles.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical issues on semi-trucks and trailers, including commercial tires, HVAC, brakes, drivetrain, and electrical systems.
• Conduct fleet inspections and routine maintenance.
• Respond to roadside service calls using a service truck when needed.
• Use and maintain TPMS and assist with inventory loading/unloading.
• Participate in ongoing training, follow safety protocols, and uphold company policies.
