Job description

What This Job Is

This is the supply side of commercial interiors. As an Assistant Project Manager on our Division 10 Specialties team, you'll take projects from the estimate through procurement, delivery, and closeout - pricing the work, placing the orders, tracking lead times, and keeping general contractors and installers informed along the way. The goal is straightforward: the right products, on the job when the schedule calls for them, matching what the specs require.

It's a full-time, in-office position, and it's structured as a path into a Project Manager seat.

Who This Fits

You'll do well here if you're organized enough to run a lot of open orders at once and comfortable picking up the phone when something doesn't line up. You're open on background - zero to two years in commercial construction, estimating, or project coordination works, and internships count.

What We Do Want To See
  • Ability to read construction drawings, blueprints, and specifications
  • A working understanding of construction processes, building systems, and project documentation
  • Solid Microsoft Office skills; ERP or order entry experience helps
  • Clear communication and a habit of following through
  • Real interest in specialty products and the construction management side of the business
The Work Itself
  • Estimating and bidding
    • Working under a Project Manager, you'll prepare takeoffs, budgets, quotations, and bid proposals. That starts with reviewing plans and specs to pin down what a project actually calls for, then identifying product solutions that hit the spec at a competitive number. Bids and budgets go out on deadline.
  • Project execution
    • Once a job is awarded, it's yours to run through closeout. You'll coordinate procurement, approvals, lead times, deliveries, and schedules against the project's milestones and completion dates, and keep records and customer information accurate as things move.
  • Documentation
    • Quotations, purchase orders, submittals, shop drawings, RFIs, change orders, and freight claims - all of it has to stay current and compliant with the contract documents and customer requirements.
  • Communication
    • You'll be the point of contact for general contractors, architects, subcontractors, vendors, installers, and customers. When a product, order, or schedule issue comes up, you handle it directly and early, with a consultative approach rather than an order-taking one.
Product Categories You'll Work With

Toilet partitions, toilet accessories, lockers and benches, fire extinguishers and cabinets, visual display units, corner guards and wall protection, interior signage, and assorted other specialties.

What Success Looks Like

The people who thrive in this role are self-starters - detail-oriented, analytical, able to juggle competing priorities without dropping any of them. They work independently but coordinate well with internal teams and outside partners, they communicate professionally under pressure, and they're genuinely trying to learn the business well enough to step up into a PM role.
