We are seeking an experienced, high-performing Commercial Solar Operations Manager to lead our commercial solar installation projects from engineering support through final commissioning. We are seeking an experienced, high-performing Commercial Solar Operations Manager to lead our commercial solar installation projects from engineering support through final commissioning. You will oversee project management teams, interface directly with high-value clients, and drive operational efficiency across diverse commercial solar installations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operational Leadership: Manage and mentor Project Managers to ensure commercial projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
  • System Design & Engineering Support: Design commercial solar systems using Helioscope and provide technical/engineering support during the development and construction phases.
  • Client Engagement: Maintain clear, proactive, and professional communication with commercial clients, stakeholders, and utility partners throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Compliance & Permitting: Navigate local regulatory environments, zoning laws, permitting processes, and utility interconnection requirements, with a strong focus on New Jersey solar frameworks (e.g., NJ Clean Energy Program, SuSI, local utility guidelines).
  • Cross-Functional Coordination: Serve as a solution-oriented liaison between design engineers, field crews, subcontractors, and executive leadership.
Required Qualifications
  • Extensive Commercial Solar Experience: Proven track record managing rooftop and ground-mount commercial solar systems.
  • Technical Design Skills: Hands-on proficiency designing commercial systems using Helioscope.
  • Team Leadership: Direct experience managing and developing Project Managers and field execution teams.
  • Operational Skills: Exceptionally organized, self-driven, and adept at solving complex construction and engineering challenges on the fly.
  • Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with a track record of strong client relationship management.
Preferred Qualifications
  • NJ Solar Market Expertise: Strong familiarity with New Jersey solar laws, permitting processes, and local utility regulations.
  • Expanded Tech Portfolio: Experience with carport installations and battery energy storage systems (BESS) is a strong plus.
  • Engineering Background: Formal background or degree in engineering, or equivalent hands-on experience assisting in system engineering and plan reviews.
