Join our team! A leading title insurance agency seeks a highly self-motivated, detail-oriented, and experienced Commercial Settlement Officer with a positive attitude to be part of our team.

Qualified candidates must have the ability to multitask, possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, and be computer proficient.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for creating and sending out settlement statements for either sale or financing statements and uninsured files. With directions from the Borrower, Lender and Seller, this includes adding invoices, lender fees, payoffs, prorations and any other items directed by the parties to the statement; circulating drafts to the parties; managing correspondence throughout the transaction; updating statements accordingly as changes come in; and working with the parties to finalize and send around executed statements once the parties agree to the costs.
  • Verify wire instructions, create and send funding packages to the accounting team, and ensure checks, invoices and FedEx labels are created and saved to the files for the accounting team to send out.
  • After wires are initiated, send confirmations of the wires to the parties with the Fed Reference numbers for their records.
  • Engage in settlement activities when deposits or funds need to be sent if a deal is cancelled or a deposit is needed for post-closing items, or if another company funds a closing.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Candidates with experience and strong knowledge of title insurance are encouraged to apply.
  • 10+ years of experience in a commercial settlement role or similar
  • Knowledge of SoftPro Select is a plus
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Outstanding work ethic with the ability to work in both team-oriented and self-directed environments
  • Detail-oriented and professional; able to handle confidential information
  • High level of accountability
  • Customer service oriented
  • Creative problem-solving skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively (written and verbal)
