Position: Commercial Service Electrician
This position will focus on commercial remodel and commercial service needs.
Job duties include but are not limited to:
- Read and understand blueprints, job specifications and one-line diagrams to ensure compliance with current NEC and local codes.
- Assemble, install and test electrical wiring, equipment, apparatuses and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools.
- Diagnose malfunctioning systems, including VFDs and motors.
- Use test equipment and hand tools to locate problem/cause, and ultimately repair/replace wiring, equipment and fixtures.
- Place conduit (pipes or tubing) inside designated partitions, walls, or other concealed areas, and pull insulated wires or cables through the conduit to complete circuits between boxes.
- Install ground leads and connect power cables to equipment, such as motors.
- Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components.
- Work in the ground digging, or work from heights such as ladders, scaffolds, and roofs to install, maintain or repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures.
Job Requirements:
- Valid Florida driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
- Ability to bend and install conduit, and pull wire, efficiently.
- Strong knowledge of single and 3-phase voltages and circuitry.
- Commitment to 40 hour work weeks.
- Ability to successfully pass a drug screen and background check.
- Minimum of five years electrical work in a commercial setting.
- Basic computer skills.
- Must possess all tools required for the trade.
- Strong work ethic and time management skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with management.
- Ability to work both independently and in collaboration with other team members.
- Good coordination, physical fitness and dexterity.
- Ability to think outside the box to create innovative and money-saving solutions for clients.
- Willingness to work overtime and on-call hours.
- Ability to visually differentiate wires by color.
- Ability to explain technical information to non-technical customers.
- Positive initiative-taker who is coachable and willing to learn new things.
- Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to fifty (50) pounds.
- Must be comfortable working from ladders, scaffolds, and roofs.
- Maintain current electrician’s license or identification card to meet governmental regulations.
