Position Overview:

The Project Manager/Estimator is responsible for providing quality commercial roofing estimates and project management services. Responsibilities include attending pre-bid walkthroughs, preparing detailed proposals, and monitoring daily job progress. This role ensures all project work is performed in a timely and cost-effective manner, focusing on quality workmanship in line with specifications and company procedures. Working closely with customers, the sales team, and field staff, this position supervises construction schedules, manages project budgets, resolves disputes, and maintains quality control.

Position Responsibilities:

• Conduct onsite inspections to assess roofing conditions and analyze plans for accurate project cost estimation.
• Collaborate with the sales team to ensure proposals are accurate and competitive.
• Attend pre-bid walkthroughs and job meetings.
• Review and approve invoices, purchase orders, and material slips for accuracy.
• Handle estimating duties including pricing, change orders, and securing vendor quotes.
• Build and maintain long-term relationships with customers and vendors, focusing on developing new business.
• Coordinate with Service and Production departments for seamless project execution.
• Work with Field Superintendents to coordinate and direct field staff according to project needs.
• Conduct daily site visits to monitor progress, identify improvements, and resolve issues.
• Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and suppliers to ensure timely project completion.

Position Requirements:

• At least 3+ years of construction industry project management experience (required).
• 2+ years of commercial roofing estimating experience (strongly preferred).
• Strong estimation skills, including reading/interpretation of architectural drawings and managing multiple projects.
• Solid understanding of commercial roofing systems and manufacturers such as TPO, modified, and built-up.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel (required).
• Ability to develop and maintain relationships with customers, vendors, and coworkers.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to climb ladders and visit commercial roof sites regularly.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel; air travel may be <10%.
• High school diploma required; college coursework preferred.

Working Conditions:

• Office environment with typical equipment and exposure to noise, temperature, and jobsite hazards including climbing ladders and handling construction materials.
• Extensive sitting, standing, bending, walking; ability to climb ladders and lift over 25 lbs.

Compensation: Starting at $75k; DOE
