Commercial Project Manager
Responsibilities
- Lead projects to ensure crews are safe and efficient, budgeted profit margins are met, quality standards are met, and customers have a high level of satisfaction.
- Provide initial client contact to assess scope of work, details of material and equipment procurement, and assign resources required to successfully complete the project.
- Provide leadership and supervision to craft employees and subcontractors.
- Manage all construction activities of assigned projects from start to finish, including estimating, submittals, RFIs, change orders, and financial performance.
- Manage Construction Safety Program in conjunction with Safety Manager and inspect job site safety procedures.
- Monitor compliance with building and safety codes and other regulations.
- Create and manage the project schedule, determine labor and material requirements, and conduct preplanning.
- Spend time on job sites interacting with work crews and monitor progress toward production goals.
- Produce and submit reports and documentation as required; review shop drawing submittals from subcontractors.
- Manage subcontractors and vendors to ensure quality control, project compliance, and proper sequencing.
- Resolve issues arising from plans, site conditions, or subcontractor performance; manage punch lists to completion.
- Collaborate with customers/sales team to meet requirements on schedule and budget.
- Prepare project reports for management, clients, and others; evaluate projects running over budget and identify cost-control opportunities.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in commercial roofing project management.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Knowledge of various commercial roofing systems; knowledge of OSHA guidelines and regulations.
- Current and valid driver’s license.
- Ability to read blueprints and specifications; strong problem-solving and attention to detail; excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to learn new software and systems; experience with a CRM preferred. Prior field experience beneficial but not required.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit, stand, climb, walk, grasp, reach, stoop/crouch, and crawl; lift, push, pull, and carry up to 80 lbs.
- Must be able to carry and climb a 32' ladder and work at heights.
- Ability to exchange information through listening and talking with others.
