Job summary

Tecta America Commercial Roofing is seeking a non-exempt roofing laborer to perform safe installation and repair of roofing materials on projects. The role offers an hourly rate of $15+ per hour with an additional $1/hour for valid DL and a background/drug screening.

Expect to learn roofing systems under supervision in a field environment. Responsibilities include observing safety rules, assisting with material lays, and supporting the crew manager and coworkers in various weather conditions.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age.
• Able to apply trade knowledge procedures and practices as applicable.
• Must be able to work in extreme weather elements.
• Must be skilled in or learn the safe and economical use of tools, equipment, and materials needed for the assigned work.
• Valid DL and clear driving record.

Responsibilities

• Observes all safety rules, including proper usage of PPE.
• Assist in laying roofing material to repair, maintain, and install roofs and accessories.
• Begin to learn tasks associated with roofing systems, including shingles, roofing felt, PVC, TPO, EPDM, MOD BIT, BUR, and asphalt.
• Stays busy doing any work that will assist the crew manager or co-workers.
• Works under general supervision, receiving assignments in the form of work orders, inspection reports, or verbal instructions.
• Begins to see next steps in roofing systems, learning tasks associated with specific roofing systems.
• Follows direction of more experienced roofers.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
• This position is subject to a background and drug screening

Physical surroundings: Field environment with exposure to heights, noise and extreme temperatures.

Travel: Project Dependent

Hours: Mon-Friday, Saturdays occasional and Subjectto overtime
