Job summary

Baker Roofing Company is seeking a Commercial Roofer to join the Production Department in Greensboro, NC. You will install and repair commercial roofing systems and help maintain high safety and quality standards on active job sites.

Ideal candidates have 1–3 years of commercial roofing experience, a High School/GED, and a willingness to learn new roofing technologies. This on-site role offers hands-on training, competitive pay, and a family-focused culture emphasizing safety.

Qualifications

• Minimum qualifications include High School/GED preferred but not required.
• 1–3 years minimum in commercial roofing.
• Driver’s license preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Install, repair, and replace commercial roofing systems (TPO, EPDM, PVC, modified bitumen, metal).
• Measure, cut, and install roofing materials per project specs.
• Install insulation, vapor barriers, flashing, sealants, and waterproofing.
• Diagnose roof damage and perform repairs.
• Operate hand/power tools and roofing equipment safely.
• Load/unload and transport materials on site.
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas.
• Inspect completed work for quality.
• Follow safety policies and PPE requirements.
• Collaborate with crew and train newer team members.

What you'll do:

• Install, repair, and replace commercial roofing systems, including TPO, EPDM, PVC, modified bitumen, metal, and other low-slope roofing materials.
• Measure, cut, and install roofing materials according to project specifications and manufacturer guidelines.
• Install insulation, vapor barriers, flashing, sealants, and waterproofing systems.
• Diagnose roof damage and perform repairs usingappropriate materialsand techniques.
• Safelyoperatehand tools, power tools, and roofing equipment.
• Load, unload, and transport roofing materials and equipment on the jobsite.
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas throughout each project.
• Inspect completed work to ensure quality standards are met.
• Follow all company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and PPE requirements.
• Work collaboratively with crew members to complete projects on schedule.
• Assistwith training and mentoring newer team members as experience allows.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands

• Requires the ability to lift and carry items weighing 50 pounds.
• Requires the ability to stand, walk, and balance forlong periodsof time.
• Requires use of abdominal and lower back muscles to support part of the body repeatedly or continuously over time without giving out or fatiguing.
• Requires seeing details at close range.
• Requires repetitive movement, bending, twisting, kneeling, crouching, stooping, or crawling.
• Requires working outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Work Environment

This position requires working in a variety of environmental conditions, including:

• Exposure to extremely bright or inadequate lighting.
• Working in temperatures above 90°F or below 32°F.
• Exposure to loud, distracting, or uncomfortable noise levels.
• Exposure to contaminants, hazardous materials, and potentially hazardous equipment.
• Working at heights and in other potentially dangerous conditions.
• Exposure to minor injuries such as burns, cuts, bites, or stings.
• Performing work where errors may have significant consequences.
