Job summary

Baker Roofing Company, a trusted leader with over 110 years in the industry, is hiring for a Roofer in Harrisonburg, VA. You will install, repair, and maintain commercial roofing systems such as TPO, EPDM, PVC, and metal, while growing your career from Roofer to Leadman and Foreman.

Qualifications

• Education: High School/GED preferred, but not required.
• Experience: 1-3 years minimum in commercial roofing.
• Driver’s license: Required.

Responsibilities

• Install, repair, and replace commercial roofing systems using various materials.
• Measure, cut, and install roofing materials per project specs and manufacturer guidelines.
• Install insulation, vapor barriers, flashing, sealants, and waterproofing systems.
• Diagnose roof damage and perform repairs using appropriate materials and techniques.
• Safely operate hand tools, power tools, and roofing equipment.
• Load, unload, and transport roofing materials and equipment on the jobsite.
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas throughout each project.
• Inspect completed work to ensure quality standards are met.
• Follow all company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and PPE requirements.
• Work collaboratively with crew members to complete projects on schedule.
• Assist with training and mentoring newer team members as experience allows.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Summary

As a Roofer, you will install, repair, andmaintaincommercial roofing systems, including TPO, EPDM, PVC, modified bitumen, metal, and other low-slope roofing materials.

What You'll Do

Physical Demands

• Requires the ability to lift and carry items weighing 50 pounds.
• Requires the ability to stand, walk, and balance forlong periodsof time.
• Requires use of abdominal and lower back muscles to support part of the body repeatedly or continuously over time without giving out or fatiguing.

• Requires repetitive movement, bending, twisting, kneeling, crouching, stooping, or crawling
• Work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Work Environment

This position requires working in a variety of environmental conditions, including:

• Exposure to extremely bright or inadequate lighting.
• Working in temperatures above 90°F or below 32°F.
• Exposure to loud, distracting, or uncomfortable noise levels.
• Exposure to contaminants, hazardous materials, and potentially hazardous equipment.
• Working at heights and in other potentially dangerous conditions.
• Exposure to minor injuries such as burns, cuts, bites, or stings.
• Performing work where errors may have significant consequences. Strict adherence to all safety policies, procedures, and regulations isrequired.
