Position: Advisor, Commercial Risk

The Advisor, Commercial Risk is responsible for selling new accounts and renewing existing ones in line with firm and individual goals. The role involves building and maintaining relationships with clients, prospects, the service team, insurance company partners, and industry contacts, while actively identifying and soliciting sales opportunities.

Primary Responsibilities:

  1. Present proposals professionally, reviewing coverages in detail to ensure client understanding.
  2. Communicate effectively with clients, prospects, insurance partners, and the service team.
  3. Close sales by collecting necessary documents, applications, and briefing the service team on new policies.
  4. Develop prospects through community involvement, seminars, networking, and referrals.
  5. Prepare and present information and recommendations for prospective accounts, adhering to firm policies.
  6. Ensure accuracy, timeliness, and completeness in interactions to minimize errors and omissions, demonstrating strong organizational skills.
  7. Maintain industry knowledge and underwriting criteria to communicate effectively with all involved parties.
  8. Represent the firm positively in the community and with insurance partners.
  9. Perform additional duties as assigned by leadership.
  10. Seek opportunities for process and business improvements, escalating issues as needed.
  11. Meet monthly new business goals.

Education and Experience:

  1. Licenses: Must maintain all required licenses per state regulations or be willing to obtain them within 90 days of employment.
  2. Certifications: None required or preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  1. Alignment with the company's core values and culture.

Technical Skills:

  1. Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  2. Ability to learn additional software systems used by the firm.
